“I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.”
~ Susan Sontag
about your Travel designer
It’s a wanderlust life and I’d be honored to help make all your nomadic dreams reality! A bit of a nomad at heart, I am a US-Canada dual citizen, and have lived in/near Toronto, Chicago, Iowa City, Boston, Los Angeles, and Seattle, as well as a couple cities in southern France (Cannes; Arcachon). Though curious, extroverted and adventurous by nature, I didn’t have the opportunity to travel much as a child. However, with that first stamp in my passport — to Ireland in March 2000 — I was hooked on the thrill and expansion that exploring foreign lands provides. I have since been fortunate to visit 34 (US) states, 30 countries, and 6 continents. It brings me such joy to share my expertise and cultivate the love of travel with others. Whether it’s an active outdoor adventure in the Alps or Andes, an epic safari through the Sahara or Serengeti, an immersive culinary crusade ranging from foraging to fine dining, a restorative retreat luxuriating over cerulean blue seas — or anything in between — Nomadic Dreams can assist with all of your travel planning needs.
professional background
BUSINESS ATTORNEY BEGINNINGS
Before becoming a travel designer and entrepreneur, I began my career as an attorney in Los Angeles. I have over a decade of experience litigating and counseling clients on various issues related to copyright, trademark, privacy, advertising, licensing and distribution, as well as general business operations. My broad-based business and intellectual property practice included service as outside general counsel for my clients, acting as their trusted advisor to evaluate and efficiently handle legal needs ranging from entity formation and employment matters to content protection and distribution. Having handled a myriad of complex contract and legal disputes across a spectrum of industries, I honed my research, logistics and organization skills, while providing attentive and detail-oriented client service.
maternal wellness entrepreneur
For various reasons, I felt a calling to the entrepreneurial world in January 2016, and launched a family yoga + wellness studio - happy baby, LLC - in the greater Los Angeles area (El Segundo, CA). Building a business from ground up was such an enriching experience, personally and professionally, as it enabled me to create a space that aligned with my core values, integrated my passions, and further diversified my skillset. Venturing into the world of maternal holistic health as an owner, manager, and coach, I utilized my legal experience on the administrative/operations side, while expanding my approach to personalized and intuitive client service. Furthermore, I developed new expertise in human resources, program development and execution, merchandising, marketing and sales of premium goods and services.
pandemic pivots
When the world came to a screeching halt in March 2020, I was forced to drastically pivot in order to continue to provide valuable health + support services to our families, rather than close happy baby’s doors completely. Showcasing my resourcefulness and adaptability in the face of a global crisis, I successfully converted happy baby’s traditional perinatal, postnatal and preschool programming to virtual and outdoor settings, while also introducing hbKIDS camps, co-op, and afterschool care to meet community childcare needs. Most notably, for the duration of the 2020-21 academic year, happy baby’s studio became the site of “hbKIDS co-op” — a micro-school that provided full day, in-person teaching and enrichment for a pod of kindergarten and first grade students, in conjunction with the school district’s remote learning platform. Subsequently, in August 2021, I relocated from California to Washington (greater Seattle area) and sold happy baby, LLC (which then rebranded to Family Wellness Studio) in April 2022.
nomadic dreams Come ALIVE
Throughout the ebbs and flows of my career, my passion for travel and experiencing the world in an immersive, authentic way has been my life blood. From studying abroad in France during university and law school, to traveling for work and leisure as a young professional, and eventually coaching new parents to continue their global pursuits, adventuring with their little ones, I realized my dream was to create a niche business within the travel industry. When the world began to re-open in 2021 — harnessing my entrepreneurial spirit, sharp business acumen, and belief that global experiences foster more peace and perspective amongst humanity — I took a leap to launch my boutique travel design studio. Nomadic Dreams values sustainable tourism, curating immersive + authentic cultural experiences, off-the-beaten path outdoor adventures, and luxury leisure getaways all over the world.
